Rollers and Setters
Hair Rollers, Hair Curlers or Hair Setters are small tubes that are rolled into the hair in order make different variation of waves and curls. The sizes of a roller ranges from approximately 0.8 inches to 3 inches in diameter. The hair is prepped, heated, and the rollers strain and break the hydrogen bonds of each hair's cortex, which causes the hair to curl. The hydrogen bonds reorganize after the hair is moistened. A hot roller or hair setter is designed to be heated in an electric chamber before one rolls it into the hair.
